My name is Joshua Temblett and I’m the sole developer working on Untold Story!
So you’ve seen our announcement for Untold Story (If you haven’t seen the announcement trailer and screenshots, click here!), and you’re wondering… what exactly is Untold Story? After all, the game’s tagline (that’s “it’s a modern take on the NES RPG”), leaves more questions than answers.
Thankfully, every Thursday we’ll be posting a developer-blog which will go into more detail about the game and what to expect. Whilst many of these dev-logs will focus on specific aspects of the game (for example, its battle system), for today we’re just going to take a broad look at the themes and concepts of Untold Story.
Today we are proud to announce our latest game… Untold Story!
Untold Story is a modern take on the NES RPG. Boasting authentic 8-bit graphics, an emotional story and innovative gameplay, Untold Story is a love-letter to some of the world’s first JRPGs, games which would go on to define the RPG genre as well as expand the possibilities of storytelling and world-building in video games.
You can watch the teaser trailer below:
Untold Story will be releasing for Windows in the first half of this year.
In the lead up to release we will be posting dev-logs every Thursday, where the developers will talk about everything ranging from the art of the game to its story.
It’s with a heavy heart that Candlelight Studios announces that development on Tiny’s Grand Adventure has been temporarily put on hold. For the time being all of the studio’s effort is being put into Untold Story, a NES-style RPG with modern influences. To stay in touch with Candlelight Studios, and find out more about Untold Story, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
We’d like to thank all of our fans for supporting us, and hope we can deliver them the game they deserve with Untold Story.
